of our tradition of providing top quality products, a tradition which is only

The Customer By purchasing a floor from Satin Finish, you can rest assured
that you have made a sound investment, which will enhance the beauty and value
of your home for years to come. At Satin Finish we believe in our products and
we want our customers to feel the same way. It is for this reason that we take
pride in extending to you the following Comprehensive Residential Homeowner's
Warranty.
The Warranty PLEASE READ THIS WARRANTY AS IT CONTAINS PROVISIONS THAT
AFFECT YOUR LEGAL RIGHT. To whom does the Comprehensive Residential Homeowner's
Warranty apply? All original purchasers of residential Satin Finish's
pre-finished linear (strips or planks) flooring product after November 1, 1999 bearing the EcoLast sticker or label and purchased from an authorized Satin
Finish dealer. What does "Comprehensive Residential Homeowner's
Warranty" mean?
"Comprehensive" means that subject to the conditions below, the warranty
covers defects in material or manufacture or finish. "Residential Homeowner's
Warranty" means that, unless otherwise limited below, the warranty operates
for the entire period that you own your home. 1. Warranty on the Integrity of the Floor
Satin Finish warrants the structural integrity of the flooring. Our flooring
will be free from defects in material or manufacture as long as you own your
home, provided the adhesive used and the installation procedures followed conform
with those specified by Satin Finish included in every package/carton, and that
all preventative maintenance and regular maintenance procedures prescribe by
Satin Finish including "General Guidelines For Your Floors" and "Maintenance
Instructions" described below, have been followed. You must check the moisture
condition of the sub-floor prior to starting installation. Any problems caused
by water from broken pipes, flooding or excessive sub-floor moisture/humidity
in the area of the installation are not covered by this warranty. Do not install
over radiant heated floors (except Multi-Plank, which can be installed over
radiant heated floors subject to conditions included in every Multi-Plank package). 2. Warranty on Floor Finish Satin Finish warrants that our floor finish will not
wear through for 30 years under indoor normal residential traffic conditions
provided all preventative maintenance and regular maintenance procedures prescribed
by Satin Finish including "General Guidelines For Your Floors" and
"Maintenance Instructions" described below, have been followed. 3. Exclusions and Limitations to Warranty In addition to any warranty limitations enumerated above,
the following exclusions, limitations, and terms apply to Satin Finish's
warranty. The Comprehensive Residential Homeowner's Warranty will not
apply in the following circumstances: a) if Satin Finish determines in its sole
discretion, that the flooring has developed indentations, scratches, or is otherwise
damaged due to neglect, water, erosion, misuse, abuse, pets, pebbles, other
abrasives, insects, spiked heel shoes, improper maintenance (including use of
detergent, furniture dusting sprays or any other floor care products. See "General
Guidelines For Your Floors" and "Maintenance Instructions" provided
below.); b) if there is a failure to follow Satin Finish's installation
instructions, or using other than Satin Finish installation and maintenance products, not maintaining
proper humidity conditions, insufficient protection, or improper alterations;
c) if your floor has been discoloured due to regular exposure to sun. Area rugs
will block sunlight and therefore should be moved around to avoid discolouration
this is not a defect. White stains and pastel colours will yellow faster than
other finishes; d) if your floor has not been maintained at the proper humidity
level. Wood flooring is a natural product and will shrink in the winter from
the dry heat and expand in the summer from the humidity. Always maintain a humidity
level of 45%. This may require a humidifier in the winter and a dehumidifier
in the summer. 4. General Satin Finish warrants that if any aspect of our Satin
Finish floor fails to satisfy the warranties listed above, Satin Finish will,
at it's option, repair, refinish or replace the defective product with
the same product or another of equivalent value. It will be up to Satin Finish
to determine the most appropriate remedy to pursue.
This warranty is valid from the date of purchase. A copy of the original consumer
purchaser's invoice or receipt is required. The original consumer purchaser
must notify Satin Finish or it's representative of any problem with the
flooring products, in writing, within thirty (30) days of when the problem occurs.
In the event of a breach of warranty claim, Satin Finish reserves the right
to examine the floor and remove samples, in order to determine the appropriate
course to follow. Any attempt to repair, refinish or replace any defective product
prior to such examination will void this warranty.
The Comprehensive Residential Homeowner's Warranty will not apply to a)
products which have been sold on an "as is" basis: pioneers, cottage,
seconds or non-standard items; b) non-residential or commercial installations;
c) products that do not have the EcoLast sticker or label.
Should there be any doubts about a piece of flooring as to manufacture, factory
finish or grade, do not install the piece. Hardwood floors are manufactured
in accordance with accepted industry standards which permit a defect tolerance
which should not exceed 5%. Such defects may be of a manufacturing or natural
type. Concerns about the grade should be directed immediately to the place of
purchase for review by Satin Finish.
Unless otherwise precluded by the laws in your province, (i) the above warranties
are the complete warranties offered by Satin Finish, and are in place of all
other express and/or statutory warranties including the implied warranties of
merchantability and the fitness for a particular purpose and (ii) Satin Finish
does not assume any liability for any indirect, incidental or consequential
damages, also costs or expenses of any kind. This limited warranty gives you
specific legal rights. You may also have other rights that vary from province
to province.
Satin Finish has the sole discretion to determine whether any product is subject
to an exclusion or is defective.
If you are not satisfied with your floor and feel that one of the above warranties
has not been satisfied, please file a claim with the company or dealer where
you purchased your flooring. If that company or dealer is unable to resolve
the matter, write to Satin Finish Hardwood Flooring Limited, 8 Oak Street, Weston, Ontario, Canada, M9N 1R8; Attention: Claims Department, and request a claim
form. Fill in and return the form for processing.
THE SOLE REMEDY PROVIDED HEREIN IS THE REPAIR, REFINISH OR REPLACEMENT OF THE

BASIS. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL SATIN FINISH BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DIRECT

is not transferable.

or implied, of fitness for a particular purpose or otherwise. This warranty
does not cover any indirect, incidental or consequential damages of any kind.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential
damages, so the above limitations and exclusions may not apply. This warranty
provides you with specific legal rights. You may have other rights which vary
from state to state.
Solid hardwood linear products are more sensitive to expansion, cupping, and
lifting from excessive moisture/humidity. To help avoid problems with expansion,
cupping, lifting, do not install solid hardwood linear (Plank and Strips) products
in: new house construction, installation adjacent to lakes, etc., areas with
insufficient ventilation (no crawl space or insufficiently ventilated crawl
space or unheated crawl spaces) and any areas that could potentially be a moisture
problem. GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR YOUR FLOORS 1. Place felt pads on the bottom of chairs, tables etc.
to help protect against scratching. Waxing is not recommended.
2. Make sure that the barrel type wheels or the wide flat kind are used on your
furniture. Ball type casters may damage your hardwood flooring.
3. Spike heels or stiletto high heels or narrow heeled shoes will dent your
hardwood or other floors.
4. If your wood floor is adjacent to an exterior door, place doormats outside
the entrances to keep dirt and grit from being tracked inside. It is always
a good idea to use area rugs over your hardwood floors.
5. Do not tape protective paper or material to the surface of the polyurethane
finish. Results obtained by applying any type of finishing material over Satin
Finish products after leaving the manufacturing facilities are beyond our control.
6. Caution should be used when cutting or trimming this flooring and approved
safety goggles should be used at all times.
7. Use only floor care products especially formulated for Satin Finish's
products including Satin Finish Cleaner and Satin Finish Renovator.
MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS 1. Vacuum clean and dry mop your floor regularly as required
to remove loose dirt or grit before it can scratch the surface of your floors.
2. Wipe up spills as soon as possible. Most food spills, water spots and dog
spots can be wiped up in most cases with a moist to damp (not wet) cloth. Do
not use any detergents. Grease, tar or oil can be removed with a cloth that
has been dampened with light mineral spirits. This usually lifts lipstick,
crayon and most rubber scuffs as well.
